Accident At Busy Cheshire Intersection

An attempt to avoid one accident caused another at the intersection of South Brooksvale Road and Route 10 in Cheshire on Thursday night.

Sgt. Don Miller said the accident occurred when the driver of one vehicle tried to avoid hitting another car from behind. The driver of the first car lost control of the vehicle and took out a section of the porch of this building, which is located on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The house is located across Route 10 from the Ives Corner Park. Initial reports from the scene indicate that there were no serious injuries as a result of the accident, Miller said.

Police were still on the scene of the accident as of 7 p.m., he said.
