Cheshire Stop & Shop To Get New Service
If you're a regular customer of the Super Stop & Shop location in Cheshire's Maplecroft Plaza, you have probably noticed some purple metal cabinets outside the west entrance to the store, which is located at 275 Highland Ave.
The reason they are there is that the grocery store chain is initiating a new service that will allow customers to place an order online and pick it up at a designated time. The service is being offered through Stop & Shop's Peapod home delivery service, according to Jenny Krupski, spokeswoman for the Quincy, Ma.-based grocery chain.
Peapod employees buy the groceries that you request, package them up and bring them to your home. The
difference with the new curbside pickup is that you're able to come to the store at the time you designate and pick-up your purchases.
Krupski said over 50 of Stop & Shop's stores already have this pick-up option. Stop & Shop has 395 stores in Connecticut and four other states.
